Yoga found me when I was least expecting it. A professional musician and music teacher for twenty years, I enjoyed a physically active career and social life. One of my biggest joys was running in the woods. I loved the feeling of connecting with nature and disconnecting from my busy mind. My Yoga Journey began close to ten years ago, when nerve damage from a routine foot surgery developed into a rare nerve disease. Overwhelmed with disabling pain, I turned inward for a way to heal and ease my discomfort. My life became a devotion to discovering how to live joyfully and gratefully with my new body. In my search, I discovered the beauty of my own breath, and its undeniable power to sooth, calm and ground my life.
Yoga and meditation have been both teachers and gifts to my life. I have learned to find ease within tension, comfort within discomfort, and calm within stress. I intend to help others access this creative space between each inhalation and exhalation, where life has a peaceful flow. My philosophy is one of simplicity: Let the breath be your guide.
