My first experience with yoga was when I was pregnant with my second child. I was physically uncomfortable, and wanted a way to feel better. I came across Kundalini yoga, and immediately fell in love. I couldn't believe the amazing difference in my body after I practiced. After having my son, I found my way first to Vinyasa yoga, and then Ashtanga. Again, I was blown away. The energy, strength and flexibility it took to get through a class was almost more than I could bear at times, but what kept me coming back was the incredible peace of mind and serenity that yoga gave me. Eventually, my strength and flexibility increased many times over, and the quieting of the mind that I felt in class began to extend into my daily life. Now, every time I roll out my mat, my passion for yoga deepens.
In class I hope to bring about an understanding that yoga is so much more than just asana. Yoga gives us these amazing tools for living, and when we take them off the mat and into our lives, we are able to live more fully. I've learned so much about myself through yoga, and my goal is to help others open their hearts, and minds, as well.
Om Shanti,
